Husband took the opportunity to get a few days of his job while it was such nice Summer weather. And we set this Friday as a day for touring North-Holland. I packed a scrumptious picknick, and at 11.30 in the morning we were ready to go.
I just point out the direction to him which works fine. My idea was to go to the "Dutch Auction"-museum at Broek, with a tour avoiding the highway. So we drove through Beemster-polder to West-Friesland where we noticed one of the ancient "banpalen", stone poles indicating a medieval border of a jurisdiction, and finally arrived at Broek op Langedijk, which used to be the center of vegetable producing country.
After we finally found a parking spot (parking area is rebuild), I suggested we eat some lunch but husband did not want to. So we went right away to the museum.
After exploring all there was to discover, see and do we toured a bit more, were amazed by the large cole fields, after all this is cole country. Then we decided it was time to pick a picknick spot. It took awhile but finally we found the perfect place, right at the Beemster Noorddijk, where I did some drawing while husband played his guitar.
