The best FREE continental breakfast
Not only do you get a good night's sleep on a very comfortable bed, you get a most delicious hot breakfast - FREE! The breakfast includes waffles, biscuits and gravy, sausage, bacon, chicken breast, scrambled eggs and hard boiled eggs in additional to the usual fruit and yogurt, cereal, and pastries. They are also the only place where I've found french toast (for the toaster) and grape juice! There are four juices and different "deluxe" coffees but I don't drink coffee so I don't know if they are any good. The friendly breakfast lady keeps the area clean and well stocked.
Most evenings have free cookies in the lobby! There is a free newspaper daily as well. The pool outside is open during the warmer months. They do not have an exercise area but there is the wonderful Kingsport Greenbelt trail just half a mile down the road (see my review). The hotel is a little older but they've been upgrading lately including new mattresses and bedding and the beds now are sooo comfortable. My last room even had touch lamps by the bed! I usually get a king room with a couch or chair and all rooms have a fridge and microwave. The rooms open up to the outside, but I like that, except you can't open the windows at all. I also don't like the older clocks with the blue digits that light up the whole room at night.
This hotel is highly recommended for the Kingsport area for the price. There is another Comfort Inn in town and I've stayed there but it isn't as nice. It is closer to I-81 but doesn't have the hot breakfast and also has trains passing behind it. The location of the hotel I prefer is also a lot closer to popular eating establishments and downtown area plus has more ammenities. The hotel does have free high speed wireless internet, a pool, laundry area, non smoking rooms, pet rooms, a picnic table and a small goldfish pond. Plus the staff are very friendly.
