Houston from above the clouds: sightseeing at a bird's eye view

This was my first visit to the sunshine State: even though I have long since planned to visit Florida, I was yet to make my dreams come true until Joanne (Flyinhigh) decided to host a meet-up for Caroline from London and invite me. I was not able to make the meet-up date of Aug 24th in the evening, but this was a chance of a lifetime and I just could not let it go, so I decided I will go to Florida after all. Joanne has been an incredible host and buddy, never met someone so much like me,its fun

Houston from above the clouds: sightseeing at a bird's eye view

Sights from above the clouds, over 30, 000 feet.

I had a one hour layover in Houston, Texas after a two and a half hour flight from Tucson. I must say I loved the airport more than I thought I would. It was busier or looked much busier than Dallas Fort worth airport through which I transit more often. It was a rather cloud filled sky as we flew into and out of Houston: the views from above were magnificent and I could not resist the temptation to capture these breath-taking views. I had intentionally booked a window seat so I could see the views as we flew over. Houston is very green in comparison to the desert that Tucson is, it was a feast to my eyes seeing the green fields and blue waters from over 30,000 feet above . . . We were delayed in Houston for a little over thirty minutes due to air traffic so we were to arrive in Fort Lauderdale later than scheduled. I had nothing much to do having slept the Tucson-Houston segment, I was wide awake on the Houston - Fort Lauderdale leg. I quickly sent Joanne a text message to let her know when we were leaving Houston, thank God she had already checked the flight status and knew we would be arriving late. I then settled in my window seat and concentrated on taking some shots of Houston before we left it behind. We flew over Louisiana which was cloudier and less vivid from the altitude we were flying.
