2nd leg of flight

We haven't got a ton of experience with flying, so we were a little nervous about getting from our arrival gate to our departure gate in Los Angeles. Our last experience with doing that was in Detroit on our return from Europe. And that one meant a walk from one end of the air terminal to the other, in a similarly large airport. This time we had a full two hours to be able to make the walk, however long it would be.
Just before landing our flight attendant went through the plane letting passengers who had a connecting flight which gates to find for the specific flight they were headed for. Our departing flight was to Vancouver and on the same airlines so our gate number turned out to be 82.
We landed and taxied to our gate, gate number 83! That meant a long walk of near twenty yards from 83 to 82. Relief. LOL
But by now we were hungry and so we started looking for something to eat. A helpful terminal worker pointed out that there was a McDonalds at gate 70 of the United Terminal we were in. That turned out to be a good half mile walk (round trip) so we did end up with some exercise as well as breakfast while our two hours slipped by quicker than we had expected.
Boarding our flight north was quick and easy and at 9:04 we were on our way to Vancouver, with about the same number of passengers.
