Heading Out

Tim cruising south

I had already shut-down my place for the winter by draining the waterlines, putting cars up on blocks, removing their batteries, and shutting off most of the building's electrical circuits. The routine had become an annual ritual that I could probably do blindfolded. I stayed in town at Sue and Tim's, but kept the VW to make rounds seeing other friends before heading out for who knows how long.

In the morning, I dropped the vehicle off at my place and made a final inspection for anything that I may have missed. Tim picked me up at 7:30 and we headed for Chicago O'Hare Airport, about a six hour drive including a leisure breakfast stop at the Cracker Barrel in Kenosha.  He got me to Terminal 5 in plenty of time for a leisure check-in at the Scandinavian Airlines counter.

I love Cracker Barrels ever since I stopped at one last year on a 1000 mile journey to Las Vegas with a detour to Grand Canyon. Lovely blog
