This is Joanne at dinner at John Barleycorn's.

My first day in the Windy City was a total blast, despite the absence of any wind. This was my first time in Chicago and my first Travel Buddy meetup.

The flight from Ft. Lauderdale to Midway was smooth and we cabbed it to the hotel, about $30. Our hotel, The Intercontinental, is located on the Magnificent Mile, and while the rooms are small, the location can not beat and there is a Starbucks in the lobby. Coffee is very important in the AM!! Especially when hanigng with Aloha Keith and Flyinhigh, read below,

We met up with Aloha Keith at our hotel and went on to John Barleycorn's, an Irish pub style restaurant, for dinner. The food was good but the conversation was better. Keith is an amazing guy who is extremely likable and very interesting, so we were pleasantly surprised to have enjoyed our first, real live, TB so much!!! j/k

After dinner, we went to Kingston Mines, a blues club.

Joanne and Keith at Kingston Mines.
We paid a $15 cover and the music was pretty rocking. It did suck that the only available seating was in a separate room. I think this is how the shots started. Idle hands or minds or something like that. Somehow, we miraculously ended up jumping around in front of Wrigley Field, which was kind of surreal and after that we started a pub crawl. I believe we went to Lucky's, where Joanne had an actual religious conversion and finally ended up at the Ginger Man, the bar when The Hustler film was shot!

It was a great night, at least from what I remember and that is my story and I am sticking to it!
