The long long way home

Time to go
home. We knew the end was approaching. I guess everyone who has gone on a long
trip has that feeling that the trip is about to end soon. We were not sad, but
glad that we would be going home again, not because we had a bad trip, no, it
was awesome! But it would be a good thing to be back home. The problem was that
we were in Trujillo, at the other side of the world.
The bus back to Lima was
not bad at all. The busline where we had reservations told us that the bus
would be two hours late, but then Aart got mad and they offered us seats in
another bus. And these turned out to be luxury seats yeah! That was a very
comfortable ride. Spectacular too, because the road back to Lima is etched in
the steep cliffs of the coast! It has to be seen to be believed. Then we spent
a final tired day in Lima. I would rather have gone straight home instead of
waiting all day for the airplane but that’s how these things go.
I had one
thing to look forward to: six hours in Manhattan! Unfortunately, the weather
around New York was very violent and the plane from the US arrived three hours
late in Lima, so we would have three hours in Manhattan instead of six. We
still went out there, visited Times Square (including M&M World) and stood
next to the Empire State Building.
So thats it. The summer has ended. Now it is time to finish my studies and graduate.
