Travel Day: Rio to Iguassu Falls

I said my goodbyes to the fellowship (Brett, Joe, and Byron) and headed out to the falls of Iguazu.  I got a bus to the main bus terminal for 2 real.  Booked a seat on Pluma bus company to Iguassu Falls for 184 real.  Left shortly after purchasing the ticket.  The bus takes around 23 hours to get to the falls from Rio, and it drives throughout the night.  The bus stops at a huge gas station for dinner.  The food was not bad, it is charged per kilo at a self serve station.  The bus stops for about an hour at the gas station for a much needed rest.  However, the bus does not stop very often.

Quote of the day:  It is very difficult to urinate on a moving bus.

Heya, sorry I know your blog is now a little dated but I am doing the same thing in February next year and am a little nervous in terms of bus bookings/travel time etc. Can you offer any advice on if I should book in advance before arriving in Iguace and which companies I should use etc? Thank you!

i know you posted this a couple of years ago, but i was wondering how you booked the bus, did you pre book it on the internet or just get it at the bus station. Also how frequently does the bus run, the lonely planet guide says its only two a day but doesnt state what times these are, if you know that would be great?(or know how i may be able to find out!)
thanks in advance
