Dubrovnik Travel Blog | Travelogue | Travel Journal

My first trip to South America. I have 5 weeks with no set plans. So i will see where the road takes me. After South America, I will be heading to Europe for 2 months to some familiar and some very unfamiliar places. I apologize in advance if this is difficult to read, grammar was never my best subject. Cheers.

Travel Day: Kotor, Montenegro to Dubrovnik, Croatia

Kotor, and the fort behind

We walked up to the fort behind the main town.  The walk can take awhile and it is pretty much straight up, so walk prepared.  The view from the top is brilliant.  The fjords look amazing from the top.

For lunch we ate at La Pasteria.  You can choose the sauce and then any pasta you want.  Pretty cool, and really tasty.

We got on the 3pm bus to Dubrovnik, which took 2 hours and was 13 euro.  Once we got off the bus we were solicited for a place to stay.  The first lady did not have air condition for the price we wanted, so we talked to the next guy.  He was open to our negotiations, so we took the room he offered.  The room was near the beach, had a refrigerator, air condition, and a large comfortable bed for 250kn per night.  The room was just off the main house where the guy lived.  He invited us in and set us up with drinks.  After chatting for awhile he revealed he was a citizen soldier in the war in 1991.  I was interested and after my pleading he showed us video footage of him in the war.  He was a really interesting guy.

We had big plans to go out and explore the night life, but we fell asleep and never woke up until the next morning.
