Near the port, Ios has a free hospital. So Kathryn hobbled on down and had the doctor take a look at her injured foot. Luckily we were the only ones at the hospital, so she was seen right away. The doctor took one look at her foot and said, "you basically have...nothing wrong with your foot." So she was just being a big ol wuss. From the hospital, it is a short walk to the port where the ferries pick up passengers, but not so short when you have a crippled with you. Again, luckily, staff from Francescos saw us and gave us a ride to the port.
While waiting for the ferry we ate lunch at Zest Cafe. The fast ferry to Mykonos takes approximately 2 hours and costs 26 euro.
We were told to stay at Paradise Beach on Mykonos, but when i got to the port the people soliciting rooms there would not negotiate the price. I usually move on when they dont negotiate, besides the rooms were really expensive with less amenities. I was approached by Nicolas next and i was able to secure a room with air condition for a price i thought was fair. The place was called Agia Anna in Paraga Beach for 15 euro per person per night. The hotel had a restaurant attached to it called Nikos. We ate there for dinner.
After dinner we walked to Paradise Beach to see what all the rave was about. It was about a 30 minute walk from our hotel, made difficult because it was up and down rocks in the darkness of nightfall. But we made it, and found Paradise Beach to be abandoned. We thought this was the party. So instead we took the bus into town. Again, not much was going on in town. We found a bar called Mex Cafe that had 2.50 euro wine and shots, so we stayed there all night and drank. After the bar closed we had to take a taxi back to the hotel because the buses stop running.
