Travel Day: Bar to Kotor, Montenegro
The walk down to the beach took about 15 minutes from the room. We stopped at a couple of fruit stands for breakfast. No sand on the beach, only rocks and pebbles. The beach beds were not much relief either. They charge 1.50 euro for the chairs and were made of wood, no padding. Servers walked around and would bring cappuccinos to your beach chair, pretty cool. Near our location, traditional Montenegran music was being played over large speakers and then later switched to rap music. I thought that was cool.
We ate lunch nearby at Splendid. Parallel to the beach, many tents are set up, which serve all kinds of food. Mainly pizza, which is what we had. A large pie was 5 euro and definitely filled us up.
After the beach we went back to the room and looked for Licina, the owner of the house. He promised us a tour of the old town, also known as Stori Bar. In a mixture of German, Serbian, Italian, and a very rarely English, Licina explained the old town to us. It was 1 euro to enter. After old town, Licina took us to an olive tree that is reported to be over 2,000 years old. Great tour guide, i definitely recommend staying at Licina's place.
Licina took us to the bus station where we bought a ticket to Kotor for 4 euro. The trip took 2 hours and was very scenic. Once in Kotor we walked around the old town until we found someone renting rooms. Pretty nice large place for 15 euro each, but again swarming with mozzies.
For dinner we went to a highly recommended restaurant called Bastion Seafood Restaurant. I had the Montenegran stuffed steak for 10 euro, not all that impressive. After dinner we drank at Portobello , a cool outside bar. The place was crowded with locals, we had a great time.
