Lapad Bay

Dubrovnik Travel Blog | Travelogue | Travel Journal

My first trip to South America. I have 5 weeks with no set plans. So i will see where the road takes me. After South America, I will be heading to Europe for 2 months to some familiar and some very unfamiliar places. I apologize in advance if this is difficult to read, grammar was never my best subject. Cheers.

Lapad Bay

Woke up early and we walked down to the beach, about a 10 minute walk from the room.  Many restaurants and concessions run perpindicular to the beach.  The beach was made of rocks, so sun beds were definitely necessary.  The beds were 20kn each.  The water was fairly clear but pretty cold.  The locals did not seem to notice.

At night we went to the old town.  There are many restaurants and it is difficult to pick.  Mainly the cuisine was Italian or seafood.  I forgot the name of the restaurant we ate at, but it was crap.  I guess the best way to narrow down the choices and to not get a crap restaurant is to ask a local.  After dinner we had drinks at the bar that claims to have the best view in old town.  Pretty sweet view of the sunset over the ocean, but the drinks came at a hefty price.

We walked around the town for awhile, there was plenty going on, people walking around, large orchestra band playing in the streets, but we went home early.  We caught the bus to Lapad for 10kn.  The bus system in Dubrovnik is pretty good.  So no problem getting to the old town if you stay near the beaches or to get to the beaches if you stay in old town, which i hear is pretty expensive.

Quote of the Day:  This would be a pretty cool place to be a bird.
