Picked up Kathryn at the port around 5am, the ferry was a little late. She had to take the slow ferry because she arrived in Pireaus after 8am, which is the only fast ferry that leaves for Ios. The fast ferry only takes 4 hours so it is real important to catch that one if possible.
We went to the beach and i played volleyball for a few hours. After the beach we went to 7-11 for, you guessed it, pizza. Had red wine from Crete for 4 euro per glass, pretty good wine. We then went over to Francisco's hostel and hung out with Francisco there. Talked about possible future employment for Kathryn. Drank there for a couple hours then went over to his bar Blue Note, Francisco bought us some shots there. Hung out at Blue Note for a few hours, then over to Johnnies Electric Bar. Electric Bar has some of the cheapest shots on the island, 1 euro for tequila, kamikazes and other tasties. Had 4 shots then went to Astra and spent the rest of night there. Astra is a small, laid back bar near the large church of Chora (Ios Village). It is owned and operated (bartend) by a cool Norwegian dude. The dj plays cool music and it has a cool candle lit atmosphere. It is a sweet alternative to most of the crowded bars in the village. My number 1 pick of the bars.
