Geriba Beach
Woke up early to a very empty town. Apparently this is a late rising city. We rented a dune buggy to explore the many beaches of Buzios. The beaches are well spread out, so having a car of your own is essential. And besides, they rent friggin dune buggies. Good idea right? Expect when you get one that has a crap reverse. We spent most of the time hopping out and pushing it backwards because nobody could engage reverse. The transmission was also shot, it was very difficult to switch gears. However, it appears to be pretty fun when you are drunk and in the back seat... research provided by Brett.
The first beach we found was Geriba Beach. Here Byron and I rented surf boards for about 40 Reals per hour for 2 people. They also provide rash guards. It was a beach break, and very difficult to catch a long ride. The waves were decent when i first entered, but became very choppy soon after.
We ate lunch at Fishbone, which is on the beach. I had some kind of giant chicken sandwich looking thing. We explored 2 other beaches, but it began to rain so we headed indoors. The best beach of the 3 was definitely Geriba.
We went to a cuban styled restaurant for dinner, i dont remember the name. I had the filet and it was excellent. After dinner we went to Zapatas, 30 Reals cover. The club was not that crowded, mixed with Brazillians and gringos.
