Left Genting and headed for Kuala Lumpur
August 21, 2009
Checked out of my hotel at around 11.30 am and left for Kuala Lumpur. when you sit in the cable car they shoot a picture which you can get at the exit point after paying 30 MYR (9 USD approx). Sky way tickets are available at 5 MYR (1.5 USD approx) which drops you at the Genting Skyway building from where you can get a bus to any part of Kuala Lumpur. bus from Genting Sky way station to KL Sentral costs 3.6 MYR (1 USD approx) and takes about 30-35 minutes to reach back. prepaid taxis are available at KL Sentral for further travelling to your desired location. A taxi counter is there just next to the Genting Bus Ticket Counter from where you can purchase a taxi ticket for your desired location.
Reached my hotel (Hotel Citrus, Jalan Tiang Nom) around 2 pm and checked in to relax for a while. the hotel is having a good restaurant serving delicious food. i had a booking for a club room and got a personalized check-in through the club lounge of the hotel situated at 10th floor. the club lounge have a view to the Petronas Twin Towers. Light snacks alongwith tea/coffee/soft drinks is served free of cost. Beer is also available but you have to pay 10MYR (3 USD approx) per pint. two machines are available at the club lounge for the guests looking to use internet facilities and all the rooms are wi-fi enabled and thats again free of cost.
forgot my passport at the club lounge, but the manager was kind enough to come all the way to my room to return it back. special thanks to her.
the room is kinda spacious and comes with all required amenities. the bathroom is having a bath tub. the only thing missing in the room was - inhouse telephone numbers. it was kinda headache to search for the number to call the operator or Reception for enquiring about the messages from my city tour operator.
relaxed upto evening and then left for a stroll and to have some local dinner outside. found a nice local restaurant and enjoyed my meal. in the mean time, it started drizzling. enjoyed my way back to my hotel.
tomorrow morning leaving for a half day city tour. :-)
