Shawn was showing Jen and me around the farm. Definitely it looks different with chickens that without them. I was hopping I'd meet the cute 3 siblings, but no luck. I saw a lady there, but she wasn't the one I met before. Shawn told me sometimes her sister visits her with her kids. I saw Santiago playing with his cousins, how cute! So bad he didn't recognize me :(
We were walking around the property, when I saw Dirk coming happy with something.
Shawn was a bit concerned about his calf. It was sick recently and hasn't been growing as much as expected. Then we saw the calves and cows. Yes, his calf, Lucero, was skinny. Poor thing, hope she's doing better now. We took some pics of them, nice. The day was perfect, not a single cloud, not too warm and the sky was blue and gorgeous. It was getting late, so better go back to the city.
In our way back to Cotacachi we were talking about what to do later.
But before shopping boots, we went to a grocery store to get some pop corn and limes. Pop corn for a snack later - doing it the Ecuadorian way: pop corn + aji. And limes because the pisco sour official bar tender was in town, hahaha. Then we went staight to my favorite store in town and the girl recognized me, hehehe. I just said hola! I already knew what I was looking for: boots! I needed black and burgundy ones. So I picked up them, tried and after not even 10min I was ready with shopping, yay! A new record!
Jen and me took our time walking back home.
It was about 7pm and we were thinking about going somewhere for dinner. But before that we'd have a pisco sour! First pisco sour for Jen! Shawn squizzed the limes and I went to work, hehe, what a hard work. We toasted with pisco sours and were ready to go for dinner. Shawn told us that this town goes to sleep early. So better hurry up if we wanted to find the recommended restaurant open, but a 2nd pisco before leaving, hehehe. They were already ready, hihihi.
Shawn was right, street were quiet and the restaurant we were looking for was closed, buuu.
Finally we decided to go to a touristy one. Shawn tried that once before, but wasn't very impressed with it. Ok, give it a try. Place was almost empty, mmm, not a good sign, but it was late and at least it'd be guarantee, that they would serve us fast and politely, hahaha. And so they did. First of all they brought the complimentary popcorn with aji, jejeje. This popcorn was better than Shawns :P.
We ordered one beer to share and our dishes. I know highlands is not the best place for seafood, but anyway I got shrimp with garlic. Shawn ordered filet mignon and Jen got grilled chicken.
We arrived back home and before going to sleep we'd have dessert. What for dessert? Pisco! This time I prepared the pisco with algarrobina. This one tastes almost like bayleys. So this was the perfect sweet end for a nice and long day. We were getting tired and tomorrow we'd go back to Quito. So, it was time to recharge our batteries. Good night!
