Best meal ever ! Right outside of the train station. It was soooo yummy !
Took a day trip by myself here. Was supposed to go with Pat, a friend from my study abroad program who came to Budapest with me, but he was sick, so I decided to go anyway. Met 2 really cool guys on the train. Both from the states and living in Amsterdam for a music conservatory. We got off the train in Bratislava
& 2 cops came up to them right away asking for their passports. They had both lit a cigarette in the open air train station, but apparently you have to wait till you get out of the train station. We explored the city together, then we parted ways so I could go see the castle and they could find a hostel. Three hours later I ran into them again and we had some beer in a cute outdoor bar. Then I walked back to the train for my ride back to Budapest. I really enjoyed Bratislava and all the great statues peppered throughout the city. It was nothing like I had imagined (or how the movie Eurotrip portrays it :o) ). It was a very cute, albeit small city (well at least the old town was). I wish I had more time to explore other cities. Next time ! Also had the best ice cream ever here !! I sample ice cream in every new city I go to. So far Bratislava 1st, Zagreb 2nd & Anywhere in Italy 3rd
