Back in Firenze !

So I land in florence and hop in a cab off to the hostel. The cab driver then proceeds to tell me that he noticed me coming out of the airport and was hoping I would be his fare cause he has a thing for red heads, he always has and he is not sure why, and he can never find them in italy (wierd & ironic because I am in fact italian) but anyhow it was more creepy than flattering.  When we get to the hostel he tells me he is sad to let me go because he thought I was really nice and he proceeds to give me his phone number on a business card. No, I did not call him.

Well I walk into my hostel & I love it right away !!! The Academy Hostel on Via Ricasoli (see review) is the best hostel I have ever stayed in hands down !! I felt like I was home.

  There was an adorable outdoor patio and every night they put out appetizers (crostini with various spreads, little sandwiches etc...) it was enough for a meal, and there was always sangria. Everyone congregated here before heading out for the night and I met so many great people ! The first night we went to the shot cafe. They have an extensive menu of, you guessed it shots ! :o) They also had it decorated with inner tubes hanging from the ceiling  (I don't remember that from the last time I was there 5 years ago). I had probably the worst shot I have ever tried in my life here. It was a flaming shot, there was a slice of orange on top, no idea what it is called but if they try to offer it to you, decline. I am shuddering at the thought of it. After the shot cafe we headed to my favorite club, Central Park ! It is mostly outdoors, in Cascine Park. Amazing dance music in the main outdoor area, and hip hop in the indoor room.

I land at Florence airport and I just can't believe I am here again. It's been 5 years and I am back in my favorite place in the world !  I can't wait to see all the art and architecture again !
