The last Imperial city: Marrakech
yesterday was a long drive from Casablanca to Marrakech, with a lot of stops; those stops were necessary since half of the group (including me) got sick. We even got a group discount at the doctor's office in Casablanca!
But we survived, and now we're of to visit the medina of Marrakech. We had a very nice guide with a good sense of humor. We visited the Koutoubiya minaret, in a lovely park, the Saabia graves and the Bahia Palace. Luckily for us it was only 48 degrees celsius, haha.
The mosaics at the Bahia Palace and the Saabia graves were very impressive, and the walk to the Saabia grave (through a path cut out in the old city wall) was funny.
We also visited a traditional pharmacie, where we smelled nice creams, got a nice massage and bought soms gifts.
That night we went to a Fantasia: a diner in a Berber tent (never seen a tent with airco though) and a horseriding demonstration. Tomorrow we leave for Agadir, for a week rest at the beach.
The staff is friendly and helpfull: we had some noise from the pool pump, and it was driving me crazy. No problem, the next day we had another room and they even apologised for it not having pool view.
The restaurant is good, with a nice variety of foods.
