Aya Sophia

It is not our first flight with Turkish airlines, we commonly use it while flying to Turkey, however, it seemed so new to us, as we arrived early to the check in counter based on the airline request, usually they ask to be there at least 3 hours before the flight, we found out the counter is closed, it was 11:30 pm, we waited for an hour until they open, a long queue formed, however, we were the first, we noticed that things were not well organized, and the passengers at the back started to push, I asked the person setting behind the counter for help by organizing the line up, he shouted that this is not his business, and we should do it ourselves ( he meant the passengers), frankly I couldn't hold myself and shouted back to him, the result was they refused to process our boarding pass, and we were about to be banned from getting on board.

Bosphorus
until that time I couldn't believe what was going on, we asked to meet the manager, apparently he wasn't arrived yet, he showed up half an hour later. during that time we were waiting while all other passengers went through. As the airlines manager arrived, he knew about what happened, he immediately apologized and accompanied us to the business class counter to check in there without even hearing our complaint . Later he explained that the counter staffs are not Turkish airlines staffs, they belong to an airport service company, and this was not the first incident unfortunately, while many airlines suffer because of them yet they cannot do anything !! anyway, we checked in the business class counter and happily enjoyed the rest of our flight.

We arrived in Istanbul 6:30 am, we had booked in Hilton Park SA as we managed to get corporate rate in there.

Ortakoy
We had some rest in the hotel, and then we met with some of our friends and relatives in Taksim square, we walked in Istiklal Street , and as we got really hungry we turned into the fish market there (Balik bazaar) we had a good meal of fish and mussel (Midye), followed by some Turkish sweets (Baklava ) then more walking to digest!!

The following day, we headed to Ortakoy at night, the little one (Delosh) didn’t feel well and we had to get back early to the hotel. Early morning we booked with a doctor to check her, and after several blood and urine tests, ultrasound test, she has been diagnosed for a sever bladder & kidney infection; she had to be hospitalized for 3 days!

First I thought this is not a good sign, however as days passed, I realized the contrary.

. first, we still had 5 days from the time she admitted to the hospital to start our cruise, second I imagined how worse it will be, if this happen while we were on the cruise ship, and they had to leave us on one of the islands to admit to the hospital there, third, she would have never enjoyed the cruise if she is sick, and obviously none of us would have too. As the doctor said, after 3 days, she left the hospital much healthier, and mostly recovered ; however she has been set for an oral medicine for a few more weeks with no restrictions on her activity including swimming,, this was a great news for her of course.

One day before we start our cruise, I decided to try the Turkish Hamam, I never had it before, I got a taxi to Sultan Ahmed area, I spotted a well located hotel with a nice terrace where I can take some shots of the Major three sightseeing, I asked about the closest Turkish Hamam in that area, they directed me to, Çemberlitaş Hamamı, Famous Architect Sinan built Çemberlitaş Hamam in 1584, I had a massage with scraping I never had something like that before, it was a great experience, costs TL 55

by the night we were set for our big adventure due to start the following day, we forgot completely about the hospital thing, and the flight check in problem, as if they were not there!!
