I have had a few people ask about what is happening with my move overseas to teach English.

Well, who can believe this?

In the left corner, the apartments, the taller building directly behind the flagpole is the student’s dorms, and the shorter building to the right of the dorms is the cafeteria. You can just see the stands on the right of the shot for the sports field.

I was just about to start to write this and I thought I would go and have a look out the window to see how the day looked. I went to the window in my lounge room where I stood last night to watch the fireworks, it is looking cloudy and it is a bit cold, so I pulled the window shut and blow me down, the handle came off in my hands. Does anything in this place work properly????? Is there anything I don't need to fix? I looked at the handle, but the metal has broken away, so I think this is another job for Claire to sort out for me. So now, I have a window that will not close, a handle sitting on my desk, and I am going into town later to meet Lisa.

My eyes popped open at six o'clock again and would not close, so I hopped out of bed, put on some boppy music and then remembered I took a couple of photos yesterday at school, so I thought I'd share them.

Anyway...

Here are the photos.

Every morning between 2nd and 3rd period the student stream onto the sports field and line up in their classes to do some morning exercises. The first lot of exercises are eye exercises. The children stand with their eyes closes and massage their heads, eyebrows, temples, necks etc. Then they do a few physical exercises; I love watching them, they are generally synchronised and they move their arms, kick their legs, jump, squat etc. I stood on the third floor balcony of the school yesterday and watched. In the photos you can see where my apartment is (in the back left corner). Directly behind the sports field is the cafeteria (a short building), next to the cafeteria the taller building holds the students dorm rooms, and in the corner are the apartments, you might be able to make out the laundry on the balconies. You will not be able to see my apartment in these photos, because it is hidden behind a building on this side. From my balcony, I look straight out over a little playground and I can see the dorm rooms slightly to my left, the cafeteria, and the end of the sports field. The window in my lounge room faces the other way, and a busy road (and sometimes fireworks across the road). My windows are frosted, so I need to open them to see what the weather is like.

Well, I’m off to dance around my lounge room until it’s late enough to call Matt and ask about the busses into town.

Sorry to hear your windows are frosted. Is that to prevent people looking in on you too much? Sometimes it's a foil or a film that you can remove. I know you want to see the world.

So, when are you starting to join the students on the exercise field? Now that you have a whole new slim body, you might as well trim it too :) How's the re-tailoring? Did you get some garments back yet?

How funny about your window... I suppose your room was vacant and languishing for attention and now it has it.... Of course it's a bit inconvenient for you! It's fun seeing your area... it's pretty contained... like a little city.... can you eat in the cafeteria?
