Both sights are located about 200km from Dunhuang and the only way is to go there by taxi. As usual, I met up with other backpackers from our hostel, this time with two French, two Belgian and one Chinesse. I do really like bargaining with taxi drivers but this time we took adventage of Murphy who bargained the fare for us. For one day trip we paid about 450yuan (for minibus), thus 75y per person. A regular taxi for 4 people would cost similarly 300y. In Yamen NP you can see very old fortress as well as great wall, this time from Han dynasty period I think. I liked, however, Jade Gate Pass, more and we came there, intentionally, also for a sunset. (BTW, It looks like to watch a sunset or sunrise in China is a big thing...:-)) ....Anyway, the combination of black sand and yellow rocks is just splendid. On our way back, I asked the driver to stop for a while so we could  enjoy night skyline. Stars were just everywhere and you could feel like you were standing in the middle of a ball with its top half consisting of only stars, stars and stars...
