Some historicians say that Chinesse Empire started nowhere else than in Xi'an a couple of thousends years ago and also the famous Silk road starts here...There's quite large Muslim minority living here, a part of the city center is called a Muslim Quarter...there's a mosque here...this place is definitelly not pure Chinesse :-) What can be seen here? I visited Bell Tower, Drum Tower, Big Goose Pagoda, 12m high city walls and Army of Terracota Warriors....I spend in the city around 7 days, more than an average visitor (3 days) but I don't regret...It was quite relaxing experience here. One day I was strolling around the city center with Raf whom I know from Beijing's hostel and whom I met here in Muslim Quarter, one day I went with Ole to see the Terracota Warriors which was packed with tourists and we had to wait few minutes everytime we wanted to take a picture.
My plan is to head more west - to China's wild wild west, to the troubled province of Xinjiang (Uighurstan), where I heard I might be out of contact for a couple of weeks....
