We were and getting ready when Wendi (Austxlady) called to tell us she was sick and couldn’t go that day. We finished getting ready and went down for breakfast. After a quick meal we were out front to go by . Everyone was ready and we were off in a caravan of cars.
On the way we had to stop and pick up the bread for the day. Rowena (Jamarek) was leading and managed to have use do a U-turn and go around a round-a-bout twice because she got a little confused. We got the bread and made a quick stop at the supermarket and were off.
We arrived at the ferry station and met up with the kite instructors. Rowena (Jamarek) bought our tickets and we got all of the kiting equipment together. We helped the kite guys get all of the equipment. It was amazing how much stuff there was.
Once we arrived back at the dock, Rob helped with the kiting equipment. We did a quick change of clothes in the car (that was fun) and then headed to dinner. We had dinner at a restaurant with a beautiful water view. We sat at the table with Mike, Matt, Ashish, and Lieke (liekevo). Poor Lieke was the focus of multiple jokes about women, Dutch, and blonds. She was great sport about it. Many nationalities were disparaged on this night.
After dinner, Wendy announced the winners of the awards. Rob won the best kiter and Mike won the most enthusiastic. These were, both, quite deserved. With his award (a kite) in hand we headed back to the hotel for the night. It had been a great day.
