. I was so tired and the skies were very grey. I tried to nap some while Rob chatted with other people. There were tons of sail boats out that morning. It was a smooth ride across but, the lounge was so loud it was impossible to nap.
Once we reached Vlieland, we had to unload the equipment and put it on a wagon to go to the beach. We thought there would be a horse drawn wagon to take us, but they have been banned on the island. We were to take a bus. We had just missed one and had to wait. On the bus ride Rob tried practicing his Dutch with Jessica (jessica0606). She giggled at him some, but he did give it a try.
When we reached the beach we checked the water and it was chilly, but not really cold. I was surprised at how beautiful the dunes are on Vlieland. They are covered with brush and a golden sea grass. The guys told Rob they normally used them on asphalt and it worked much better. Rob actually got the change to try the large kites. He said the harness was like a girdle and couldn’t breathe. He had a lot of fun with them. He could really control the big one and then sometimes it controlled him.
When were done, we had to walk back to the bus stop. The view inland as we crest the dunes was scenic natural beauty. We arrived early for the ferry, so we had to wait for a little while. While we were waiting I captured some amazing shots of the
