Welcome to Indiana!
We soon crossed the State line into Indiana and headed south towards Greentown, a small town just north of Indianapolis. This is where my cousin Karen lives with her boyfriend Larry, and where we will be spending the night before the long drive back to Maryland. They are planning on us being there for lunch, so my Aunt Joyce (my dad's sister) my cousin Sharon and her new husband Keith, and Karen's daughter Lavonne and Lavonne's husband Nate will all be there waiting for us. I planned on a three hour drive to their house, so we should get there around 12:00 noon since we left Chicago at 9:00am, but I forgot about the time zone change, so we got there at 1:00pm.
It was great to see them all again, and staying at Karen's house was more like being at home than on vacation.
We just sat and talked, got caught up on how everyone was doing, and relaxed!! Later just before dinner, my cousin Sharon's daughter Sarah and her girlfriend Heather showed up. Again, it was great to see them again! We all decided to go across the street to a neighbor's house to see their new Great Dane puppies. Since they were not home, we just looked for the dogs through the fence. We only saw one puppy outside, so we started calling for the mom, dad and other puppies to see if they would come out. After a few minutes, the dad Great Dane shows up...on our side of the fence! Oh crap, they got out! We went inside the fenced yard and found only the one puppy was still here, the mom, dad and rest of the puppies had escaped! We then got a call they were all across the street, so Lavonne, Sarah, my daughter and son went over to get them. As we were attempting to get them all in the fenced yard, the mom & dad escaped again and ran off through the backyards.

Heather and I took off after them and after about a mile and a half chase, they stopped long enough for us to catch up to them, grab them and walk them back to the house. Finally, all dogs are secured in their own yard, and the escape hole under the fence is blocked off!

The neighbor did come home about 20 minutes later, came over and thanked us all. She did offer us a puppy, but that was not going to happen even though my son really wanted one! After a great dinner, we all just relaxed with a few drinks and chatted until it was time to call it a night. What a fun day, catching up with family and chasing down Great Danes!
