Photos include a trip up Mt. Wellington, towering above the city of Hobart. It also includes trips to the Tasman Peninsula and Port Arthur, possibly the most infamous of the Australian convict prisons. Awesome fact about Port Arthur: It is located on a peninsula connected to the mainland by a tiny strip of land. They tied dozens of attack dogs to posts across this strip of land so if someone tried to escape, they would have to pass this "gauntlet" of dogs. They even tied dogs to rafts in the water on either side to stop them from swimming across. Crazy...
It looks like there are going to be a ridiculous amount of beach and cliff pictures on this trip. Ever inch of coastline I've seen in Tasmania has been perfect. The interior is a bit like the Okanogan, with big rolling hills and lots of farmland and wineries. All of this within an hour and a half of Hobart, which has a population of over 200,000.
