Day 1 BKK
July 17, 2009
The bus ride was amazing. So many things to see! I took some pictures on our way but when aproaching Bangkok, my battery went empty. At the final bus stop; Ekkamai, we started to talk to the guy in the bus who was sitting next to us the whole ride. He told us that he knew BKK a little bit because he came here regular and adviced us to go to Ko San Road, the famous backpackers area. In the meantime he explained about the sky train and the express boats of the Chao Praya river and we asked him if it was possible to travel together to Ko San Road. Thomas, a guy from Germany was glad to show us the way and so we travelled together (no pictures unfortunally).
We went with the sky train to Saphan Taksin and from there further with the express boat to Ko San Area. My eyes popped out during the boat trip, so many things to see, boats, sky skrapers, people, buildings, the water...... I loved the city allready!
Thomas took us to hotel ' Four sons' where he took a room and so did we. We said goodbye in the hope to see eachother again. (I can say now that we did see eachother many times after this first encounter).
We walked a bit in the area of Ko San Road, ate some Pad Thai, drank a beer and went to our bed..... tired of this day and glad to be in Bangkok!
