This is my two week latin american tour by three countries: Chile, Argentina and México. It was kind of hard to get good timing and prices, but everything worked out great!

Too many contrasts in just one day!

Colorful Valparaíso!

We hit the highway towards Valparaíso, but, it was getting late so we decided to stop by the Palacio Viña Mar for lunch and some good wine. I made a review about it, so I won’t say much here. I ordered a Risotto with sea food that was just wonderful. I also had a drink of Pisco Sour. I liked it! The dessert was also delicious. After being full of great food and great wine, we resumed the way to Valparaíso.

I definitively loved Valparaíso! It looks a lot more thrashed and poor than Santiago, but it just got something to it that makes it special. I think it’s definitively all those bright and colorful colored houses built on top of the hills! The city is full of hostels, museums and cafes, it just lovely! We went on top of a hill using a XIX century elevator, a bit scary! Then from there we could just admire the city from some of its best angles! Colors, colors, colors, that is what Valparaíso is all about! We could also take some pictures from Viña del mar from there.

Viña was shockingly different! I was like crossing from Tijuana to San Diego (lol). It’s very classy, modern, clean and nice city with lots of luxurious accommodations and a nice casino. Unfortunately it was already dark when we got there, but I hope to come back on a future trip!

Yeah I loved them both, but they are so different to each other!! I guess you can have different types of fun at both. I wish I had more money to bet and go in the casino haha. I will definitively have to go to Viña with more time!

Awesome food in a classy environment
This Palace is a winery that is located on the highway from Santiago to Valparaíso, Chile. It's good some impressive acres of grape trees before the main building, which is got some beautiful architecture. The menu includes Chilean specialities, mediterranean food and lots of great wine. I ordered a Risotto with sea food that was incredible. I also had a drink of Pisco Sour, a drink that is claimed by both peruvians and chileans, lol. Since I was hosted by chilean friends I didn't want to disagree with them haha. The palace also includes wine production and storage facilities, but we were late for the guided tour. I took some pictures from the outside, though. Great place for wonderful food and chilean wine, if you are ever driving between Santiago and Valparaiso.
