Budapest main train station
We arrived in Budapest
around lunchtime. Livia, our TB guide met us at the airport, which was very kind of her, because later I found out what a mass of transportation Budapest has. She definately saved me a lot of time and energy figuring out the best way to get everywhere. We bought the all day all transportation pass. Well worth the money since there are so many modes of transportation to choose from. The pictures tell the story of where we went mostly. Heroes Square was first and a nice walk through town. Behind the square is an awesome castle (sorry cant remember what it was) Also in the structure was the sculpture known as the Dementer (from Harry Potter) that was really cool but creepy. Then we went back to the subway where they had a huge food court where we ate lunch. Afterwards we were off to the Parliament building and then St. Margarets island. Buda Castle was next, which as you can see from the pics was awesome! The colored roof tiles were gorgeous! We also did a little shopping here and I bought a beautiful ingenious little box that has a hidden key to open the box. From what I've been told you can only get them in Budapest. From there we had to make our way back to the airport to catch our flight to Athens and the ferry to Santorini.
