Acropolis
We took the long ferry back (33 euro each) to Athens. After we checked into our hotel and got a good nights rest we bought an all day travel pass (only 3 euro each!) Most of the tourist sites are all on one line. We visited the Acropolis and the new museum near it first. If you like old ruins this is the place to go. Everything is in greek and english which was helpful. Next we wondered around, ate a wonderful greek meal, shopped the Plaka and visited all the little places along the way that you'll see in the pics. Afterwards we went to Syntagma Square to watch the changing of the guards, which is rather amusing. The National Garden is behind the guards where we rested in the beautiful shade. The gardens also had roman ruins including a mosaic floor. After more shopping and dinner, we made our way back to the hotel to catch a few winks before we had to go back to the airport. When we were there, there was construction going on in the subway to and from the airport so we had to take a taxi (because the subway wasnt running due to the early hour) to the bus station in Syntagma which took us all the way to the airport.
