Okanagan valley
September 1, 2009
We left Vancouver on the midnight greyhound headed for Penticton to search for some fruit picking work in the Okanagan Valley to tie us over until the snow season started. When we arrived we decided to check into the hostel for the night. On the first night we had dinner at Theo's a Greek restaurant downtown and even though it is on the pricey side the food was amazing and in very large portions as well. The next day we moved to a campground 1 block away from Skaha lake which is awesome to go swimming in. We spent the next few days making calls to orchards in the surrounding area and relaxing on the lakes shore before we found out there might be some work near Summerland then it was pack up the tent and make our way there in the hope of some work and to catch up with some friends.
