Heraklion & Knossos, Crete
June 3, 2009
We stayed here one night for Knossos which was really close! Only about 10minutes by local bus and very worth it! Heraklion was also the main harbour of Crete which would take us to the rest of the small islands.
Like Chania and most of Crete, it had an old Venetian harbour with a castle from which we saw a nice pink Greek sunset with a splash of waves. There was an awesome cafe "Mare" looking out to the rest of the city and harbour which we stayed a few hours and enjoyed frappes before we did a bit of Club hopping.
At Knossos we got to see a lot of the famous red columns and frescos..and enjoyed some cherries under the shade of the site's trees.. :)
