Finally Athens!
We landed by plane in Greece twice, but decided to keep the capital for last :)
By this point we could hardly wait to rest our feet at the hotel we decided to splurge the most in..The Fresh Hotel - amaaazingG!!
Athens was a dirty, crowded and busy typical European city with mainly just the Parthenon and a few little unique areas to visit, so we spent a lot of time at our hotels roof top pool enjoying the warm weather, sun and perfect view of the Parthenon. The hotel even have a roof top lounge and bar area which we got to enjoy on our lazy nights too.. :)
The funny part was that a left turn from the hotels entrance would lead you to the Monastraki market area with all the important monuments and sights on way, and a right turn to thr red light district! haha, such a great hotel on such a boarderline location, but we didn't have any problems as we stayed to the left :)
The Parthenon with the Plaka area just below made a great day of walking around the city and seeing the old and new with some shopping on the site - Athens is by fare the cheapest place to shop..as well as for food in Greece!
Another interesting things we got to see in Athens was the changing of the guards on Sunday at the Syntagma Square, very nice ceremony! And their outfits are adorable :)
We loved it once we found it online and we were even more stunned when we arrived! It has everything from a roof top pool and bar with a full view of the Parthenon to a sauna and even a mini hammam in the gym area! The internet is free. The entire building is very modern, bright, colourful, airy and well kept for the guests!
The only sad part was that they closed the Ice Lounge before our arrival this summer :(
