One of my favorite cities to visit

I love Seattle. I'm not even entirely sure why I love it so much, but it's one of my favorite cities in the country to visit. Not sure that I could ever live there due to the crowds, the expense, and the lack of sunshine. But to visit for a few days...nothing finer, especially if you time it well enough to catch a Mariners game at Safeco Field, which is one of my favorite stadiums in major league baseball. It's one of the new stadiums that they did right. Got the retractable roof on it for when it rains, but when the roof is off you don't feel like you're indoors. My beloved Brewers failed at this in their stadium.

Unfortunately it was December, so the Mariners weren't in season. But I was on my way to Hawaii and got a fantastic price on a flight to Maui from SeaTac and had a free flight voucher that I used to get to Seattle. A trip to Seattle is never complete for me without a stop by Pike Place Market for some fruit. I also swung by the Pioneer Square area and stopped in for a Cow Chip cookie. Totally sinful and an exercise in gluttony, but soft, warm, chewy, and delicious chocolate chip cookie. I even sent some home to my family as they love them too.

I drove around quite a bit and found the scenic overlook on the hill. On a clear day Mt. Rainier would be visible, but it wasn't clear. All too soon it was time to leave, but thankfully I was on my way to Maui for some December sunshine so I wasn't ready to shed any tears.
