The day everything went wrong

I asked the garage to call me a taxi and the one that could take me the harbour because it was shorter to go by the water than the road, and the ferries sailed pretty often to Lisbon.
I had packed some of the things from the car but I could not take much. The smiling taxi driver that arrived did not speak any English so he did not get the harbour thing but drove the 50km to Lisbon; the price was fair only 52€, so I did not complain. The trip to Lisboa via the motorway gave me a chance to charge one of my phones on the way.
I got off at Rossio and walked a little bit around before I found an internet cafe and checked booking.com. I found a good offer for a 5star hotel in the city centre; the price was around 100€ but I had told myself that I at least deserved to sleep in a great bed on top on a day that had changed my holiday planes somewhat.
I took a taxi to the hotel and checked-in; the hotel was great, it was just what I needed after a wasted day on phonecalls and stress. I had nothing of my personal stuff with me and I needed at least a tooth brush, deodorant and a phone charger. I therefore left for the city centre again very quickly because the it had just passed 7pm.
I found what I need and I ended in a bar with couple of cold beers looking at the daily life in Lisbon.
I walked around a little while and the phone suddenly rang; it was the Portuguese assistance; they had found a car for the following day. I would be picked up at my hotel 10am sharp! I smiled and relaxed; now I could re-activate my holiday. I went back to the bar and asked if they could recommend me a restaurant? They told me to go downstairs and I did.
The restaurant was small; I guess they had 30 seats in all. When I arrived I was the first. I asked if I was the first this week and they laugh and assured me that it would be full in 30-40 minutes. It was actually what happen; 30 min later it was fully booked. I had a good fish meal and went back to the hotel after a long dinner where I enjoyed a good bottle of wine as well.
