Leaving Santiago do Cacem
I woke up early and the first thing I did was take away the curtains and enjoy the view for the last time. The sun was not really up yet but I enjoyed what I saw. It was too early; I had to sleep at least one hour more.
I packed and got ready to leave. I wanted to leave and still not; everyday life was coming too fast, even though I always plan that I have something to see on the way home. I went down to check out, it turned out that I was too early, the night man did not feel sure that he could close my account the right way so he told me to have breakfast and then one of the regular receptionist would come.
The hotel had again fulfilled its mission; a good place to stay, good price per night (61€ inclusive breakfast) and quiet, but it was time to leave. I had been coming here for years and nothing had changed; I was sure it would be the same next time again. This is how life is in Alentejo and why I am returning.
