Finally I had the possibility to visit Cordoba
I had missed on Cordoba the other times I had been driving around in Andalusia, which by now had been a lot. Cordoba was supposed to be a wonderful city so I don't really have an explanation on why.
I arrived Thursday evening and had a good first impression. I managed to drive around the cathedral quite alone and the resent road construction made it even almost impossible to get out. I managed and even found a good hotel not far from the city centre at a fair price.
I was heading for Gibraltar later the following day but I did not want to miss the opportunity to see a little of the city when I now finally was here. I took a taxi to the city centre from the not knowing where I were. Less than 4 euro later I was there!
I walked the streets before people had gotten up and I enjoyed the calmness and the loneliness in these wonderful narrow streets.
This is definitely a great city with character and history. I walked towards the cathedral of which I had a brief encounter with the day before.
Actually I entered it without knowing what it was; I first found out when I bought the 8€ ticket and it said on it that it was the Catedral de Cordoba (Antigua Mezquita). Inside their garden was magnificent but the most stunning was the inside of it. Parts of it reminded me of the beauty of Granada and yet not.
I must day that the moors built some great monument that I hope will last forever. Walking inside the Cathedral was like walking in another time and place.
I walked the streets for yet another hour and the decided that it was time for Gibraltar
