Arrival in Vienna

Got here okay around 3pm this afternoon - alive, but of course tired from the looooooong travel over. :) Been traveling since just after lunchtime on Saturday! I think we've got the jet lag a little better controlled this time around, but we shall see what tomorrow brings!
When we checked our bags at the curb, the guy ran inside to get our boarding passes for us and came back with seats in separate rows AND in the middle. Yuck. We had reserved a window/aisle combo on this plane. Together. So much for that! So at the boarding area I spoke with the attendant who was really nice, but could do nothing about it for us. She DID, however, reserve our seats for the trip home - a window and and aisle.
It turned out that I was a row in front of Jesse, next to a bunch of kids from a family we had been sitting next to in the waiting area. I was supposed to be in the middle of them, but the mom told them to give me the aisle seat so they could stay together, and then Jesse asked the guy sitting next to him (on the aisle) if he would mind switching with me, which he did not, so we ended up getting to sit together anyway, and Jesse got the aisle after all. I TOLD him all that anger and frustration over the seating/tickets had been needless. :)
Anyway... we had the hotel's driver waiting for us when we got in. We decided that this trip it would save a LOT of stress if we just paid the extra money and took taxis when we had our luggage to manage. Expensive, but hey...
Took some pictures this afternoon... I'll post those later. We're staying in Pension Suzanne, about a block from the Opera House. We couldn't bring ourselves to eat Weiner schnitzel (fried veal, etc) tonight, especially not for 19 euro/person! We opted for pizza by the slice (and I had a salad), and some gelato afterward (which country are we in again?). :)
Tomorrow we'll be headed to the Schonnbrunn palace and the Belvedere (just the gardens). Maybe some standing-room-only opera as well, if we can manage it! :)
