Another branch of the culture tree happens to be sport - undeniably so, it would be impossible to imagine that any country on earth exists without some form of sporting culture, however underdeveloped or ill-funded that might be. Sport has been around as far back as humans have been interacting, and it is the precise nature of human interaction which defines the rules behind any sporting activity. The fascinating thing for myself is that, whilst some sports are recognized and practiced all over the world and manifest themselves through international tournaments, world cup football being a prime example, other sports are only suited to the climate and cultural background of the country or region in question - let's cite camel racing in the Middle East as a prime example. Whatever your sporting preference, I can only hope that this sporting blog is an insight into the 'world of sport', and the depth and diversity of the whole range of activities which constitute the vital element of competition. Whether we're looking at a 'home' or 'away' win here, there's no denying the fact that the sports culture is a real winner when it comes to shaping and defining our active pursuits.
