The day starts with rain again :( Summer in Norway is a lottery :p

The distance from Valldal to Geiranger isn't far therefore there we had no hurry and we slept a bit longer. Awww, that was a benefaction after 1 week of getting up around 7 a.m. You must know that I'm not a morning person.

We came down the "Eagle road" (RV 63) which is very impressive. The road winds in 11 serpentines from sea level up to 624 m above sea level where you have impressive views on Geiranger village, the Geiranger fjord and the water falls. Half way you find a new observation platform. But be careful the parking space is limited and lots of tourist busses and cars stop there.  It's kind of chaotic.

The brakes and gearing smoked and smelled when we finally reached Geiranger.
The village was crowded since the annual Geiranger Half Marathon took place that weekend. Wow, I take my hat off to all participants either runner or biker. In total, the track has 35 180-degree bends, and a height difference of 1500 meters (4500 feet). It's big pain to run or bike the route to the top of the Dalsnibba even climbing it by car ;)

We decided to stay at least 2 days in Geiranger since we needed some time to relax and there are so many things to see and do in Geiranger.

After we got ready at the camp ground we had some coffee and cookies. Hmm, I love the yummy cakes with sugar and cinnamon.

Right behind the camp ground starts the Homlongseter hiking trail and to stretch our legs a bit we walked the first 3 km to Homlong and back. Buddy was soooooo happy and he ran up and down the whole way.

In the meantime the sun came out and I served dinner outside the camper :) It was kinda celebration. Our first open air dinner of the trip :)
