Day 2: From Farö to Sarpsborg

I'm addicted to Norway since I've been there for the first time in 1991. I was and still am overwhelmed by the beauty of the nature and the kindness of the people. Some people say 1 time Norway, Norway forever. Although I've been there around 10 times now I usually find new places and things to do. I've seen only a small part of this beautiful huge country. I'm happy I could infect my bf with the "norwegian virus" aswell :)

Day 2: From Farö to Sarpsborg

Öresundbridge between Coepnhagen / Danmark and Malmö / Sweden
Our alarm went off at 7 am. After a tasty breakfast with hot fresh coffee we started to our next destination. Because I'm getting seasick very bad I prefer driving through Sweden than taking the ferry from Hirtshals / Danmark to Kristiansand / Norway. I took it once and I swore myself not to do it again.

In Copenhagen you have to choose if you will take either the ferry from Helsingör to Helsingborg / Sweden or the new Öresundbridge from Copenhagen to Malmö / Sweden. This time we've choosen the ferry. I've never been seasick there since it's just a 20 minutes passage ;)

We drove the bridge last year and it's breathtaking. It wasn't an easy choice but money counts - as people say - the ferry is a bit cheaper than the toll for the bridge and it's about 50 km less driving.

The distance from Farö to Sarpsborg is about 600 km and we changed drivers twice and had a 1 hour rest for lunch. Around 5 pm we crossed the border of Norway. Every time I cross the border it's like comming home for me. Driving over the bridge at Svinesund is incredible. "Norway I'm back again :)"

At 6 pm we reached a small camp ground close to the city of Sarpsborg. I cooked a nice dinner and soon after that we went off to bed.

Rhonda, if you don't go by car there's a train crossing the bridge. I don't know about the schedule or fee but I saw it there. It might be interesting since the toll is € 38 each direction. Maybe a ride with public transport might be cheaper if you go to Malmö just for a short visit.

Great Blog Jutta, I even wrote down some useful information for my trip. Copenhagen to Malmo is a 20 minute passage. I may pass over here into Malmo, Sweden. Thanks
