Bridge over the canal
To keep the customer satisfied, like in the song by Paul Simon, we planned to visit the town of Papenburg. Oldest daughter wanted to "shop", and because of that BJ wanted it too, and husband likes the activity you can find in a town. I don't mind much, as long as I can experience some new things. So I headed the nose of the car north, to Papenburg.
We found a free parking place in the center of the town, and walked to the canal. The canal is right in the middle of the town, with shops on either side, and pots with flowering plants can be seen at the entire length of both the streets. In the canal their are beautiful brigs, a delight to see.
It was a very warm Summer day, time for ice cream, which we had at Fantasia, at the canal.
We walked around a bit, the girls got in an out some clothes shops, but could not find something to their liking, however they had fun :)
Halfway the afternoon we got back to the car, and left the center of the town, heading to the parkplace at the Birkenallee, where we would go for a walk along the Aschendorf Moorpfad.
Quite interesting, however I could have spent more time reading the informationpanels.
