I was so concentrated writing that I lost track of the time. When I checked the clock, it was already 9:20am. Ok, time to go and look for a place to grab breakfast. They serve breakfast at the restaurant where we had dinner the night before, but Shawn and me had a rule for this trip: "never eat at the same place twice", hahaha. So we kept on walking to "downtown".
In our way we found a nice restaurant that served breakfast. I was hoping they had fruit salads, but they didn't buuu. To be honest, most of the restaurants didn't. Mmm, I asked the boy where I could find a fruit salad and he gave me the name of a place a couple of blocks away. Ok, we'd have breakfast here, but while they'd be waiting for their food, I'd go quickly to the recommended place and get my fruit salad, yes I know, so spoiled... Shawn didn't want me to walk by myself and joined me. We finally arrived to that place, which was also a hostel and looked very nice. Also the restaurant did so. The whole time we were traveling along the coast, I haven't seen a capucino, but here they served different types of coffe, mmm. We should have come here for breakfast, grrrr.
Once I had my fruit salad we walked by to the other restaurant, where Lisa and William were waiting for us.
We walked back to the hostel in order to ask Mau, if he thought we'd be able to go fishing despite of the bad weather. Unfortunately it was too windy for the small boats that do the fishing trips, so we wouldn't be able to go fishing that day, but maybe tomorrow. Mmm, we were thinking about spending another night in Canoa, so instead of leaving early, we leave in the afternoon. That sounded good.
So, not even 2 1/2 hours after breakfast, we were having a coffee break, hahaha. But I wouldn't be lazy. By this time, I've realized that I wouldn't be able to keep on writing as I usually do, if I want to catch up with the days... According to my journal I was still in Puerto Lopez, so I decided to start writing just the highlights. The tons of pics would help me to remember the details. And I wasn't alone in this enterprise. Shawn would help me, yay!!! It was awesome we have been traveling together, so he would make me remember if I'd forget something, how great!
Have to be honest, this hostel looked so nice and maybe with a better common area than the place we were staying.
We arrived back to the hostel and met Mau. We told them that we had a problem with the mosquito net. The rope wasn't long enough, so he got new rope for us, yay! Ok, before going to have lunch, Shawn would fix it, yay! The mosquito net was pink, so I called it my "Barbie bubble". I looked for the guys, but they weren't there. Oh well, we'd go by ourselves to have lunch.
We went back to the town and found the 1st place recommended. I was checking the menu and suddenly read it "Encebollado". I saw this word since I arrived to Montanita and always wanted to try it. This might be the opportunity to do it. So bad, they didn't have encebollado. We found the 2nd recommended place, but they didn't have it either. We tried a 3rd place, but nothing. The lady at the 3rd place said that the encebollado is only for breakfast, buuu. Ok, we'd have it next morning. We decided to go back to the 1st restaurant.
The man was happy to see us again, hahaha. To drink, Shawn ordered an Inca Kola, hahaha.
After a tasty meal, we decided to go for a long walk. We were feeling guilty about having 2 breakfasts and then lunch, hahaha. While we were eating we had audience. Actually it was a dog, so we went to look for it and give it some food. Then we started to walk around the town again. So far we only walked along the beach but to the left, so this time we'd explore the right side.
Don't know why, but water was dirty, so sad. We kept on walking until we found a path which lead us to a nice hotel.
By the time we were back it was about 5:30pm. There wasn't much to do in Canoa if you couldn't go to the beach. Day was still cloudy and windy... So better, stay in the hostel. I'd write a bit, but I found something more interesting to do: Play cards! Shawn didn't remember any game, so I taught him a couple, hehehe. I know I told him not to mention the score, but since I didn't promise anything... hahaha. To make it funner, we'd bet something, hahaha. Just a drink, nothing too much ;)
Yesterday, we read that tonight would be Mexican night and they would serve Mexican food, so we were looking forward to it.
Too bad for Shawn, I found cards! hahaha, so the 4 of us were playing for a while, hahaha. Ok, we were getting hungry but there was no power yet at the hostel, so we decided to stay here for dinner. They have nice pizzas, yummy! While we were waiting, we saw that people was leaving and running. What was going on? There was a fire in a hostel and firefighters weren't coming fast.
Anyway, our food arrived. Pizza was really tasty, perfect comfort food! Thin croast, nice toppings, yummy! People were coming back and told us the fire fighters arrived too late... so sorry. Well, it was getting late and tomorrow we'd leave, so better waking up early to upload the car with all our stuff and hopefully it would be sunny and not windy, so we could finally go fishing. This would be my 1st time fishing, how exciting!!! Now I was just hoping that Barbie bubble works fine ;)
