After a quick stop in Jama for some "food" for the car, we arrived to Pedernales about 10 something. Pedernales looked different than the towns we have been before. It was bigger, but not a city. It was busy and so commercial. We were driving around looking for a place with an ATM Lisa could use and finally we found it and also a parking spot, how nice! Streets were busy and reminded me some areas in Lima, where I wouldn't leave my car, specially if there were things inside it, mmm.
William went to buy some fruit and while he was there he met a Canadian guy, Christopher. This was quite strange, since there are no many foreigners in Pedernales. Maybe Christopher was the only one, besides us, hahaha. He was very friendly and started to chat right away. We told him we were looking for another ATM, since the one we found didn't work for Lisa. So he joined us and leaded us to another one, thanks!
Then we told him we were looking for a place to grab a bite, nothing special. The only requisite: local! We went to a small restaurant in front of the main square. The waiter approached to us and explained the traditional lunch had fried fish. So, this would be a brunch, hahaha. The 3 guys got this breakfast, while I just got coffe.
After a tasty breakfast / lunch we crossed the street where I asked for the Equator Monument. A lady told me that stone there was the Equator Monument, lol! Ok, picture time. This was our first time on the Equator line, so picture time! hahaha. Pedernales claims they are the only city on the Equator line, hahaha.
We are about starting our way highlands, so this was last chance to buy some coast fruits. I love the way to shop here, just stop with the car in front of the different stands and they will deliver to your car what you asked for, hahaha. Sweet! Ok, time to leave and we wouldn't stop until Santo Domingo!
