my first coffee, finally coffee!!!
In my list of restaurants to try, there was a vegetarian cafe. So I decided to go there. Last night it was closed, but was open now and serving breakfast, yay! The place was nice and cozy, furthermore they had travel books, so while I was waiting for my order, I started to check them :) I'd get a healthy breakfast. While the girl was preparing it, I was taking pics. I was the 1st customer of the day, this party town sleeps until late, haha.
which one is better? having a local friend is the best!!!
A couple of minutes later, she came with a huge fruit salad. It was so good... I became even happier when I noticed the sun was shining, so good for my beach plans, but suddenly it turned cloudy, buuuu. By the time I was ready, it was getting sunny again, yay! After thanking the girls for the great breakfast, I went to the beach but first a quick stop at the hotel.
Beach was almost empty. I chose same spot as yesterday, just in case the 4 guys showed up, which unfortunately didn't happen Anyway, I was there when I felt some sand. It was a dog playing, that's ok. There were quite a few dogs running along the beach. Then I felt a drop, and other drop. Another drop and another, OMG! Please don't rain!!!
Ufff, there were just a couple of drops and it was over.
minigunther went to the beach too :)
I'd stay for a while and when I was about leaving, Michael - a guy I met when I just arrived to Montanita - showed up. I told I'd leave that day and he told me there would be 2 surf competitions next morning and that I should stay, well thanks for the invitation but don't think so... He left and another guy showed up, waving. Mmmm, I didn't recognize that face. He said "Hola!" I said "Hola" back and then he introduced himself and told me he saw me las night with the Germans, hahaha.
He sat down and we started to chat.
who is this guy?
Back at my hotel, I was finishing las details. Almost ready when my phone rang. Shawn was already in town. He'd park in front of the hotel. 5 min later, I went downstairs and saw him: "Shawn!!!"
It was so good to see him again, yay! This was the 4th time we met, how awesome! But it was 1st time in Ecuador, so it was a novelty, also it would be the 1st time we'd travel together, hehe. I told Shawn I was ready to go. I was just carrying my small backpack.
chilling out - OMG it's getting cloudy...
When he saw it, the exclamation was "Holy Cow!" hahaha. He liked my "home". He stayed once there but some time ago, and it was different now. I was showing him my home proudly. Anyway, we went to the car, which by the way is awesome. I love to have wheels, hurra!!! Left all the stuff and I went to the reception to check out and thanked the girl for the kindness.
We started to drive not knowing where to go, so we decided to stop for a juice and chat for a while. Which was supposed to be a quick stop turned to be an almost 40min chat, haha. Once I started talking... Ok, time to be honest. I liked Montanita, but don't think it's the best place for me at least at that time.
Shawn and Yadi before leaving Montanita
Finally, after telling Shawn about my adventures from the last 2 days - thank God he didn't leave me alone for longer, otherwise this conversation might have been endless - we decided to start driving to Puerto Lopez. I told Shawn he'd be the guide from now on, since he has already been there. Sure he has, but it was... 4 YEARS AGO!!!!
