We arrived to the hostel and saw a guy with his bike and a young guy who seemed to be a guest. And so he was. He was an Argentinean guy who went to Canoa for 2 days and ended up staying 2 weeks so far.
It wasn't dark yet, so we decided to go for a walk along the beach and watch the sunset while we were walking. Before leaving Lisa asked for 4 drinks to take, so we'd enjoy a cocktail after a long drive ;) Nobody wanted to swim now, it was a bit windy and sort of cool.
It started to get dark and we decided to stay there to enjoy a beautiful sunset. We left the beach when it was dark. In our way back to the hostel we were wondering what we'd do later. Before dinner, mmm. Having a drink? Sure! But what about making something different? Lisa and William were in Peru briefly but remembered the Pisco Sours and tonight I'd become a bartender again and prepare them. Salud! So, before going back to the hostel, we went shopping what we'd need for the drinks.
Back at the hostel, I took a quick shower and get ready to start my bartender duty.
A few drinks later, we were hungry and ready to go and look for a place to eat. We didn't walk much since decided to stay in the restaurant next door, haha. They serve fish and seafood, yay! something local! Ok, now what can we order? I wasn't sure how food adventurous they were, but it turned to be that William loved to try local food too! Yay, one of us! He used to be a chef and likes to try the different cuisines, how great! So, we ordered first 1 cebiche to share.
Next Lisa got grilled fish, mmm nothing really interesting, while the 3 of us got shrimps but cooked differently. Shawn got it with a pink sauce, think it was golf which is a mix of ketchup and mayonnaise, at same time William was having a hard time trying to decide for 2 dishes. Well, I was thinking about one of them. So I'd tell him, I'd get one of them and he could get the other, so we could try the different dishes. His answer was: "Hi 5, sister!" So I got the garlic shrimp and he got the encocado, which we had already try twice and I told him we both loved that dish, so now he wanted to try it too, hehe.
Meal was delicious and the 3 of us where trying the different shrimps, yummy!!! By the end of the meal, they were already used to the crazy photographer, hahaha.
With our full stomachs, we decided to go to "downtown" in order to look for a place to have a drink. We were also talking about going on a fishing trip, so I might get a motion sickness pill, just in case. It was Monday night and places were empty. Not much was happening in Canoa. When I asked Mau about it, he told me Canoa is full during the weekends, weekdays are usually lazy ones. Well, it worked for us! We'd own the town, hehehe. We found a club that looked nice and went inside for a couple of drinks.
Lisa and William wanted something simple like vodka with orange juice, but the drinks weren't strong enough, so they went to a liquor shop next door and got a bottle of vodka! Shawn and me got cocktails and they were yummy.
We were having fun there, just chatting and relaxing, when we all started to move. Would we dance? no way! There were tons of mosquitoes eating us alive!!! The bartender noticed we were having troubles and gave us some limes cut in halves. We should rub them on our legs, so the mosquitoes would stop bitting us. Well, that worked, yay!!! It was almost midnight when we left the bar and went back to the hostel.
It has been a long day and I was tired. Mau brought a mosquito net, but didn't seem to fit very well. Anyway, repellent might work and it shouldn't be so bad... I was so naive...
