We drove up to a mountain. It was noon and it was such a beautiful day, so sunny. But it was windy and cold, hahaha. It might be because it was high. Pfff. Shawn and Frank were talking about business and I was just walking around and taking pics.
After enjoying this beautiful scenery, we decided to go down to the lake itself. You can sail there too, but it was too windy and Shawn told us it was just ok. Nevermind we staid there for a while just admiring the deep blue lake. It was 1:30pm when we left "Cuicocha". Where to go now? The chicken farm, yay!!!!
Yes, the chicken farm! Shawn has already told me, he didn't have chickens at this moment. He just sold all of them before leaving to the coast :P Frank wanted to check how was the farm doing and I wanted to know it, perfect! I also wanted to see Shawn's cow and recently born calf, yay! Shawn doesn't live at the farm, but the guardian and his family does.
All of them were really kind and were with us while we were walking around the property. Shawn and Frank were busy talking about business, while I was talking to the wife asking her how to make juices with the local fruits, hahaha. There are 5 dogs at the farm and Dirk was playing with them, sweet! Also the children were playing with the dogs. They are such happy and friendly kids.
Specially the boy, Santiago. I asked him what he liked the most of living there and he said: "the cows". So I asked him to give me a tour and show me the cows and so we did. He's so sweet. I got the name of the 3 children and wrote it down, so I won't forget them and also Shawn might need this info, hahaha.
It was about 3pm when we left the farm. Day was still gorgeous but we'd drive back home to leave Dirk and the car.
Frank wasn't as adventurous as us when it was about food. He has been in Cotacachi quite a few times, staying at a hotel with a nice restaurant which he likes, so there we go. It was located just 1 block away from the main square. The workers from the hotel recognized him, lol. It was late so we asked if they still were serving lunch and then got a nice table at the patio.
Now, it was time for me something completely new. We ordered our lunch, but the waiter brought first complimentary "pop corn". Was that the new stuff? Well, what happened next was definitely new. Frank ordered for "aji" the spicy dressing and started to dip the pop corn in aji before eating. What? Shawn had already told me about that and assured me, it tasted really good.
For lunch we got soup, which was very tasty, shrimp for me and Frank and fish for Shawn. I was feeling full, of course after all the pop corn, hahaha. And the waiter came with the dessert. Well, there's always room for ice cream, hahaha. Specially if the presentation is so lovely. When I tried, yummy!!! It was delicious!!!!
It was almost 5 when we were leaving the restaurant. I'd walk a bit around town. I needed to do some shopping and wanted to take some pics. The guys went back home and a bit later, I joined them. The town was so peaceful, perfect place to go if you just want to relax and take it easy.
Evening was just about packing. I was leaving tomorrow to Quito. I'd reassume my backpacking travel, again traveling by myself. Didn't know how but I succeeded packing, yay! Better go to bed early. Tomorrow would be a long day and we'd go to have breakfast early too.
