to the whales!!!
Yes, I know it says 5th, but this is what happened the rest of the 4th, following you'll find the 5th, hehe.

Saturday Jul 4th:
We were still wet, but at least the sun was in our side when we went back to the coast. My first idea was to go back to the hotel, take a quick shower and dress dry clothes, but once we arrived to the kiosk... The sunset was almost there and the hammocks... Ok, we'd go back to the hotel after enjoying the sunset and a well deserved cocktail, hehehe. To the whales!!!

It was dark when we went back to the hotel. I took a quick shower and the idea was to go out for dinner, but then I saw Shawn holding the container with the cakes we bought in the morning. He was just looking as a child who wants to do something bad, mmm.
perfect to relax
"What are you thinking, Shawn?" "Oh, well. Can't we have a tiny bite of the cakes???" hahaha, it wasn't that hard to convince me, hahaha. "ok, but just 1 bite. We're gonna have dinner soon." "Deal!" And we tried his carrot cake and my pineapple dessert, saving them for the next day. Both were very tasty, but I think mine was better hehehe :P

We left the hotel and walked around the other part of the town. This time we wanted to see more than just the malecon. We went to the square and I found the Colombian restaurant that was recommended too. Mmm, Colombian coffee for our last breakfast in Puerto Lopez sounded awesome, but the guy told us they don't work on Sundays, too bad!

We went back to the malecon and found a restaurant that looked nice and there were people eating there, always a good sign.

We were looking for something traditional and we found it: "spondylus" Spondylus is a mollusk, a shell, but I have never eaten it. I knew it just as a jewel, hahaha. Shawn got the Spondylus cebiche and I got steamed Shrimps. Meal was tasty, the only thing I didn't like that much was the service. The lady was mean... Maybe because they were full. I don't remember how many waitresses I saw, everytime a new face, lol. Ok, no big deal. Back to the hotel? Not right now.

First we'd stop at our multitask kiosk for cocktails, music and enjoy the campfire. It was Saturday night, so all the locals were partying. There was a disco that was full, but I preferred to hang out in front of the cozy fire zipping a tasty cocktail, actually more than one, hehehe. Judith was still working. That woman works whole day long, how impressive!!!

Finally at 10 something we decided to go back to the hotel.
oh no, ants! Never leave for tomorrow, the sweet you can have today ;)
I was thinking about the dessert, but forgot about it and so did Shawn...

Sunday Jul 5th
As usual I woke up early and went to the balcony to write a bit. Shawn got up a bit later and we started to pack and get ready to leave Puerto Lopez. I was checking if we were missing something when Shawn exclaimed: "Desserts" So good, he remembered it, yay! Time for the sweets!!! Then he said: "Oh no!" oh oh, I didn't like that voice... Although the container was in the fridge, he found ants!!! Lesson of the day: never leave for tomorrow the dessert you can have today...

Oh well, we'd survive. We left our stuff in the car and went to look for a cafeteria to have breakfast and then we found a cafe called "Spondylus", hahaha. They had coffee and fruit, perfect!!! Shawn got the continental breakfast and I got fruit salad and coffee.
where's my food??? hahaha
Mmm, change is a problem in the small towns. You should have change otherwise it could take forever to find who can break your bill. The breakfast was good and the place was small and nice, run by a family. So, it made me sad to see the owner couldn't get change and gave us a discount, not that much, but I'm sure it was his profit...

In our way to the car we found a candles' shop. The smell guided us there. The candles over there were really art pieces. Some were so big!!! All of them were colorful and so artistic, even the holders were so nice. I wish I could take one with me, but it wouldn't survive until I was back in Lima. Even Shawn wanted to get one for his house, but we still had a few days before along the coast before heading to highlands... so, maybe next time...

Oh! Here is the car, let's start our way to Puerto Cayo :)
