Tarapoto - Whisky Bar

Tarapoto Travel Blog | Travelogue | Travel Journal

My travels in the north of Peru, from Lima, up the coast to the border with Ecuador and then east over the Andes and into the jungle. I had to come back to Cleveland unexpectedly, but I hope to start a new travel blog as soon as I can!

This is a very charming hotel just north of the main plaza by a few blocks. There are 11 rooms off of a courtyard lined with potted plants and artwork and each room is comfy and breezy. My room is a double but I got the single price and even a discount because it's getting into low season.

The owners arrange day trips to the surrounding waterfalls and villages and lagunas and there is breakfast provided in the room price in the nice restaurant next door. There are a few restaurants on the street and bars as well that are well known in Tarapoto. Furthermore, it's quiet and that's a big bonus to be away from some of the noise of the mototaxis here.

Internet is available for 2 soles an hour. Cold showers are standard but it's very hot here so most hotels don't have hot water. TV in each room and a fan. I slept wonderfully here!
